This position is eligible for relocation.

This Russell Associate will be responsible for executing domestic and international equity transactions for numerous types of clients and strategies. They will be trading on a daily basis and will be responsible for implementing advanced execution strategies that conform to Russell's Best Execution guidelines and achieve client expectations and goals. This person will assist in the continued development of our Best Execution metrics through demonstrable pre-Trade and post-Trade analysis, our trading capabilities through continued analysis and evolution of systems and execution venues, as well as our overall product offering.
 

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

  • Global Equity Execution. Will be responsible for efficiently executing a broad array of strategies, from global trading mandates to single stock executions. This individual must be familiar with equity markets, both international and domestic, emerging, developed, and frontier.
  • Quantitatively Driven. Must understand investment performance at the portfolio level, as well as the underlying stock specific ramifications of trading individual lines.
  • Risk Management and Best Practices. Interact with numerous clients, investment managers/portfolio managers and execute program and/or single stock equity transactions. Continue to implement and evolve the established best practice procedures to ensure trading strategies conform to Russell's best execution guidelines. Interface with various accounting systems and operate multiple market facing execution technologies.
  • Communication. Effectively interact and communicate with members of Russell Implementation Services, Clients, External Investment Managers, Portfolio Mangers, and others in the investment community to create efficiencies with regard to the continued development of the high-speed/low-latency environment. Develop best practices that will provide for operational and trading scale within group.
  • Continued Development.  Continue to develop and evolve execution analysis and monitoring techniques and deliverables that satisfy the requirements of Russell's Best Execution guideline.
     

The successful candidate will have extensive demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related area required; advanced degree a plus.
  • 3 - 7 years of equity trading experience in the brokerage/trading industry
  • In-depth knowledge of Global Equity Markets
  • Ability to understand and work with multiple complex trading systems and configurations
  • Experience working with the institutional community
  • Detail oriented, strong work ethic, team player & excellent problem solving skills
  • Series 7, 55, 66 licenses
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Highly proficient with multiple PC software including securities-related applications (portfolio accounting, trade order management, trading platforms, FIX connectivity, DTC/SWIFT messaging)
  • Ability and willingness to function in a stressful, technological environment with minimal instruction or supervision
  • Driven self starter looking to take on new responsibilities in a challenging environment
